Larking Gowen strengthens its private client, trusts and probate offering

We're delighted to announce that Nina Baker has been promoted to the position of Director. Nina's new role, which took effect from 1 January 2024, will see her specialising in inheritance tax planning and probate work.

Nina has been part of our Farms and Rural Business team for many years and, in that time, has increased her special knowledge in family succession and capital taxes advisory work, focusing on inheritance tax planning advice. More recently, she’s expanded her expertise even further, dealing with a number of probate cases.

Discussing her role, Nina said, “More and more people are now paying inheritance tax and, without realising it, their estates can have significant liabilities. With some planning, this can be significantly reduced. I've always relished the opportunity to get to know people, to understand their motivations, and then work with them to reach the best possible outcome.

“I really enjoy helping people to look at the overall picture, giving meaningful advice so that they understand the options available and they can achieve the best possible outcome.”

Sally Farrow, Partner in Larking Gowen’s Private Client, Trusts and Probate team, said, “I’d like to congratulate Nina on her well-deserved promotion. Nina’s commitment to our values of great client service will further strengthen our Private Client, Trusts and Probate team. The whole team continues to grow, and Nina’s special knowledge will mean we can help more clients with bespoke tax planning advice and probate services.”

Managing Partner, Julie Grimmer, added, “I am delighted to see Nina achieve this well-deserved promotion. It reflects Nina’s focus on her continuing personal development and desire to increase her specialist knowledge and experience in an area that is becoming significant for increasing numbers of our clients.”
