Larking Gowen is pleased to support Suffolk Libraries’ fundraiser
We’re delighted to be sponsoring Suffolk Libraries’ biggest ever fundraising campaign. PAWS-itivity will see colourful dog-themed sculptures in all of the county’s libraries this summer. The ‘Library Labradors’ will all feature designs individually created by local artists.
The canine sculptures will be launched at the Suffolk Show in May 2023, returning to Trinity Park to be auctioned on 12 October 2023.
The event aims to raise money to support Suffolk Libraries’ work at the heart of the community. It will also raise awareness of Suffolk Libraries as an independent charity that needs additional funding to nurture literacy, improve health and wellbeing and create accessible arts opportunities for local people.
Giles Kerkham, Director of Not for Profit and Education at Larking Gowen, said: “Many of us have used the local libraries throughout the region with our families and participated in Suffolk Libraries' events. We value local connections and being part of this region. Supporting PAWS-itivity means supporting the fantastic work that Suffolk Libraries do in promoting community spirit and providing access to literacy and wellbeing support. It's important to us as a local firm to give back to the community that we're embedded in.”
‘Magpie Murders’ Author, Anthony Horowitz, whose reading journey began in a library when he was nine, has also got behind PAWS-itivity, offering to sign a sculpture by local artist, Sharon Teague, based on his Magpie Murders book. Sharon will also be appearing as an extra in the forthcoming television adaptation of the book, which airs in the spring.
